and yes I said yes I will Yes.
Still looking to get a message to Kate Bush. Found my grandfather Albert Bulbeck though, a story which deserves a post of its own. Which will follow. When I’ve found a way to communicate with Miss Bush. In the meantime….
This business of Kate Bush and permission has been somewhat in the news, because she has finally been granted permission by the Joyce estate to use Molly Bloom’s soliloquy in the recording of her song ‘The Sensual World’ for the forthcoming ‘Director’s Cut‘ album.
What I would very much like is permission to quote, in full, the bridge and chorus of ‘This Woman’s Work’ at the end of one of the chapters of my forthcoming book. I’d cheerfully send the chapter to Kate to see if she was happy for me to use it. Nothing else seems to work; and it seems mad to print a url for one of the many places you can find the lyrics online for readers to click for themselves.. So, please; if anyone knows anywhere I could send a letter, or an e-mail, please let me know.
I’m also quoting from a Larkin poem; he’s much easier to get in touch with, trust me.
