Why is distilling alcohol in the woods illegal? Boo hiss! Surely it demonstrates great entrepeneurial spirit? (scuse pun). I used to brew beer (lager and stout) in my airing cupboard when the kids were little and we were stony broke. It didn’t taste great but it was marvellously cheap – about 16p a pint, if memory serves. Was I commiting a crime in my own bathroom? 😉
